Sachin returns back alone from Srilanka

It has been reported in the media that Sachin Tendulkar has returned to India alone on Sunday night even before the completion of the series. This has raised speculation of a rift between MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar following he being rested for the last 2 ODI's. I was expecting something like this to happen because Sachin is such a power centre in Indian Cricket and you cant afford to rest him even when he is not performing. More than Sachin, the catorie surrounding would create lot of noise around his "resting" for the last 2 matches. I can imagine how Ravi Shastri and Sunil Gavaskar would be fuming when they see Sachin not in the playing XI. Thats why, I feel how bold a decision Dhoni took when he "rested" Sachin. I know of how players get into the District level cricket teams. So it would not be a surprise if there are power politics and groupism at the highest echleons of Indian cricket.

Today BCCI Secretary has issued a statement that Sachin Tendulkar has taken prior permission before leaving Srilanka to set the matter right. Read the news item here. Though everybody claims that Sachin is an icon and a legend, on which there are no second thoughts, I believe that all is not well in the Indian team.

Dhoni is having a dream run and nobody can dare stop him on his way now. But things will turn worse for him as well in future and we will see the drama unfolding then. Something is cooking and we will see soon through the columns of Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri!!

Power centres is nothing new. While doing my graduation I also read about elitist theory. The theory is a liberal version of the communist theory of classes propounded by Karl Marx.

Nooooo. This is very very unfair. Not even the journos picked up this scoop. This was not the first time Sachin was rested and won't be the last time too (he's got a long career). Sachin came back early just like many cricketers of many teams have done in overseas tours.

Why don't you write about the lobbying and selection of TN players since Srikkanth became the selector. It was once Bombay, and then Bangalore and now Chennai. We created a noise during those periods and we seem to be quite about this fact now. Not fair?

By the way, nothing is cooking. All is well. Peace.

Dear Sachin Sena Volunteer,
First let me clarify that I didnt create this issue. It was reported in Times of India. The post has a link to the article.

My point is Dhoni was bold enough to take the crucial decision of resting Sachin and what kind of reactions it would result from people like Ravi Shastri and Sunil Gavaskar types.
